THE MORNING PAPER FOR CONSTRUCTION PROFESSIONALS AND TRADIES
🚨 Safety Updates
Following a recent incident where a young worker sustained significant crush injuries to the lower leg while trapped between a vehicle and its trailer, Queensland WorkSafe is reminding operators that ill-managed site traffic can be a significant safety issue.
Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) remain the most common injury among Victorian construction workers, often caused by hazardous manual handling such as lifting, carrying and repetitive movement.
WorkSafe Victoria has released new guidance for employers and duty holders involved in temporary traffic management. The guidance provides practical information on meeting obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 and the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017.

🧰 Construction Au Other
Queensland’s looming shortfall of construction workers presents a rare career opportunity for industry experts to step into training roles, according to Plenty Training, a leading 'train the trainer' Registered Training Organisation (RTO). While this may look like a major concern for the industry, and could mean significant delays to key projects, it also represents a golden moment for those looking to become qualified trainers in construction and infrastructure. New figures from Infrastructure Australia reveal Queensland could face a shortfall of more than 54,000 construction workers at the peak of preparations for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
🚀 Innovation, Digital & Futuristic Technology
Felix Group Holdings Ltd has announced the acquisition of Nexvia, a leading Australian and New Zealand’s project management software platform for construction SMEs, in a cash and scrip transaction valued at AU$12 million.
The convergence of IT and OT is transforming infrastructure delivery. In construction, integrated systems enable real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and energy optimisation. As AI workloads surge, infrastructure must support smarter, more resilient data centres. Unified platforms, edge computing, and battery storage are now essential to future-proofing mission-critical construction projects.
HTF Market Intelligence projects that the global Railway Construction Technology market will expand at a CAGR of 6.7% from 2025 to 2032, from USD 138.20 Billion in 2025 to USD 231.85 Billion by 2032.

📖 Miscellaneous
The construction sector is full of smart, experienced professionals making high-stakes decisions. But like all of us, specifiers, architects, contractors, and buyers are influenced by cognitive shortcuts, also known as biases, that shape how they perceive brands, products, and risk.
To boost productivity, Australia must streamline regulations, reform the tax system, invest in high-impact infrastructure, promote a future-ready workforce, and enhance competition. These strategies aim to reduce inefficiencies, attract investment, and foster innovation. Coordinated national reforms are essential to unlock economic potential and ensure sustainable long-term growth across sectors.
