The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) is reminding heavy vehicle drivers to stay alert when travelling on and around the rail network and never take risks at level crossings, as part of this yearās Rail Safety Week (11 ā 17 August). A survey commissioned by Transport for New South Wales found almost half of heavy vehicle drivers (44%) admitted to sometimes engaging in unsafe driving behaviours around level crossings, such as driving through a level crossing when tired, visibility was poor or as part of a non-approved route.

The Queensland Government has announced it will fast-track two critical infrastructure projects to help deliver 1,300 new homes in Rochedale as part of its $2 billion Residential Activation Fund. The fund will provide a $47 million boost towards the $57.4 million Gardner Road Extension, set to unlock 685 new homes giving more Queenslanders a place to call home.
